We are developing a broadly spread portfolio of property and property related business, both in geographical and risk profile terms, ensuring Hardy's presence in each sector offers relevance and meaningful capacity.

Tony Hepburn - Business Unit Manager

Hardy's non-marine property underwriting is led by Tony Hepburn. Since 2007 Hardy has developed a significant presence in the global direct and facultative property market and has also recently broadened the offering to include global construction risks and a US Binder account. The property account is written mainly from London and Bermuda, with the joint venture initiative with Arig (HAIM) developing business from the Middle East and North Africa region.

Worldwide D&F

The worldwide D&F account senior underwriter is Matt Town with Ben Nicholls, Fiona Panzetta, Michael Williams, Simon Wilson, Hugo Berney and Charlotte Macey completing the underwriting team. The account focuses on non proportional placements and Hardy provides lead underwriter capacity, with a significant line size available across layers. The book is underwritten on a global basis, including US business. Further support is provided by a dedicated risk and loss modelling function.

Direct Property

The international direct property account is led by Tim Bartleet and focuses mainly on small to medium sized commercial and industrial business, largely written through facilities. The main geographical scope is UK and Europe, with an increasing international focus.

David Haslam leads the US Binder account, also focusing on small to medium sized commercial business, as well as homeowners.

CAR/EAR

The most recent addition to the Hardy offering is construction and engineering. This account is led by Steve Cross, offering meaningful capacity and technical expertise on global placements. Our mechanical engineer, Myles Dytor, adds further specialist knowledge and experience in respect of machinery breakdown risks.

The main focus is on large risks and infrastructure projects and, as with the D&F account, the global reach is enhanced through Hardy's Middle East platform, HAIM
